Chief Bank Strategist

Jay Brew began his career on Wall Street, working specifically with community banks. His commitment to that sector culminated in 1992 with the formation of BNK Advisory Group, which under Jay's leadership grew to become one of the top community bank advisory firms in the nation.

In 2001, he co-founded Embassy Bank of the Lehigh Valley (PA), where he continues to serve as a founding director, chair of the ALCO/Risk committee, and the financial expert of the audit committee.

Over the years, Jay's spoken to thousands of bankers at scores of conferences, and as one of the nation's leading bank strategists, logged hundreds of advisory or planning engagements with banks ranging from family-owned and mutuals to multi-state and international conglomerates.

Jay is among the faculty of Sheshunoff Consulting + Solutions' CEO Affiliation. Additionally, as a leading member of m.rae's economic council, Jay is the voice of the weekly market briefings produced through the firm's Economic Survival Kit.

Each month, Jay shares his knowledge in our own Focus Forum; and is a contributing columnist for Bank Director Magazine's Viewpoint.

He's been integral to the development of firm's Art of Series. His latest additions include the self-authored Art of the Investment Portfolio in Community Banks and The Art of Strategic Planning – Volume Two, which he co-authored with Michelle Gula. Jay has also authored Investment Portfolio Basics for Community Financial Institutions for the Financial Managers Society.

Today, Jay serves as Chief Bank Strategist and senior advisor for m.rae resources, in addition to leading the brokerage services of BNK Investments.
