Hugh Blaxall

Hugh Blaxall is the Managing Director of VBCBa/lanceSM and President of Velligan-Blaxall Consultants, LLC. Through VBCBa/lance, Hugh and his team offer nontraditional asset/liability solutions that meld strategic modeling with board/management education to empower and transform community banks across the country.
Prior to founding VBC, Hugh spent seven years with Janney Montgomery Scott LLC where he ultimately served as vice president, providing risk modeling and consulting for several community banks ranging from de novos to asset sizes of over $10 billion.
From 1997 to 1999, Hugh attained the position of senior financial analyst at Fleet Credit Card where his responsibilities included income and balance sheet forecasting and development, as well as the implementation of the credit card model for interest rate risk measurement. Prior to that, Hugh served as treasury liaison for the Advanta Corporation, and he worked in the asset/liability management department managing financial and statistical analysis at CoreSates Financial Corporation.
Hugh holds advanced degrees in economics from Wye College, the University of London and the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
