Brian Velligan
Managing Director, VBCBa/lance
Brian Velligan is the Managing Director of VBCBa/lanceSM and CEO of Velligan-Blaxall Consultants LLC. Through VBCBa/lance, Brian and his team offer nontraditional asset/liability solutions that meld strategic modeling with board/management education to empower and transform community banks across the country.
Prior to VBC, Brian spent more than seven years with Janney Montgomery Scott, LLC where he achieved the position of corporate vice president and branch manager of an institutional fixed income sales office specializing in financial institution clients. In addition to overseeing the daily operations of the office, he provided risk modeling and consulting for several community banks ranging from de-novos to asset sizes of over $10 billion. From 1991 to 1999, Brian reached the position of senior financial systems coordinator, planning & budget for Eastern Savings Bank in Hunt Valley, MD.
A published author for several industry trade publications, Brian presents regularly at ALCO committee meetings as well as at local, regional and national conferences. He has extensive systems experience including applications in cost accounting, segment profitability reporting and IRR measurement. He holds an M.B.A. from Eastern University and is a CPA candidate and member of both the Financial Managers Society and the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
